Acadia is more than a place. It is a team of people working together every day to protect the park and serve its visitors. Our park staff is made up of federal employees, partners, volunteers, interns, and more.

As a unit of the United States government, all job announcements for federal jobs are posted on USAJobs. Year-round and seasonal positions are posted there throughout the year for our different work areas including – maintaining roads, trails, and facilities; law enforcement and search and rescue; and interpreting park resources and meanings for visitors.

Use the feed below to see if there are open federal positions, but always check USAJobs to be sure. Check out our Tips for Applying for Seasonals Job at Acadia, and visit the National Park Service's Work For Us page for servicewide information.

Disability Employment Program

One in four adults in the United States lives with some form of disability. People with disabilities cross all racial, gender, educational, socio-economic, and organizational lines. Unlike many other underrepresented groups that face barriers to employment, anyone can become part of the disabled community at any time. The National Park Service is committed to being a model employer and continually strives to promote the recruitment, hiring, retention, and promotion of people with disabilities.

Schedule A refers to a special hiring authority that gives federal agencies an optional, and potentially quicker, way to hire individuals with disabilities. You can apply for jobs using Schedule A if you are a person with an intellectual disability, a severe physical disability or a psychiatric disability. To be eligible for Schedule A, you must provide a proof of a disability letter from your doctor, a licensed medical professional, a licensed vocational rehabilitation specialist or any federal, state or local agency that issues or provides disability benefits. Applicants also must meet qualifications and/or education requirements for the position.
